Bulgarian President’s Mandate Refused by Reformist Coalition
Bulgarian President Rumen Radev handed the reformist coalition «Continuing Changes — Democratic Bulgaria» a mandate to form a government, however, its representative Nikolay Denkov immediately returned it.
This decision has led to the possibility of forming a government in the National Assembly of the 50th convocation being rejected, bringing the country closer to its seventh general election in just three years.
The coalition, which became the second largest political force in parliament, had hoped for the support of other deputies in working on anti-corruption laws, but faced insufficient support.
Nikolay Denkov stated that it is impossible to form a stable majority in the current parliament, and emphasized that their political force will not change its approach.
The party «Continuing Changes — Democratic Bulgaria» has expressed readiness to negotiate with the next political force that will receive a mandate to form a government.
