In Koloamak, Bogodukhiv district, a central local history museum is planned to be founded soon, but for now, local youth has launched its online version called «Kolomak Castle,» reports «Slobodsky Krai.»

On the website of «Kolomak Castle,» edited archival documents, reproductions of ancient paintings, and reconstructions of historical images are presented. Among the exhibits are the coat of arms of Kolomak from the 18th century, a plan of the settlement from the same period, as well as images of local churches, schools, and various architectural objects.

The idea of creating a museum arose before the start of the full-scale invasion, when tourist routes were developed and premises were allocated for the exhibition. However, since 2022, this place has been used for humanitarian aid.

«Despite the war, life goes on, and we have decided to resume work on creating the museum. Our region has a great history, and creating a local history museum is very important. We have to collect all the history in one place and preserve it,» emphasized the head of the Kolomak community, Volodymyr Hurtovy.

The project initiators call on local residents to join in the creation of a «real people’s museum» of the Kolomak community.

The territory of modern Kolomak and its surroundings was settled as early as the middle of the 1st millennium BC by Scythian tribes, as evidenced by the settlement in the Lozovyi Yar tract and a group of mounds. Kolomak is mentioned for the first time in documents from 1571 as a settlement. Before the full-scale invasion, 3,844 people lived in the settlement.
